The casual walks down the empty city streets in the early morning sold me on Oaxaca and drove me out of bed every morning. We were invited to a beautiful wedding here and took a few extra days away from work to truly get to know this place.
I didn’t really know what to expect - I hadn’t heard much about this part of Mexico. With the first half of each day to ourselves and the evenings dedicated to events, we soaked up every corner of this lively, lovely desert city. The food was outstanding and mostly sourced from the gardens behind the restaurants, and the city was filled with colors and incredible local art shops.
