Zion National Park | Utah

I spent a few freezing nights sleeping in the back of a car just to get a real taste of Zion, a park I had once rushed through unprepared. It’s known for its legendary hikes, but photographers know it for the endless small compositions: leaves, sandstone, ice, the colors on the Virgin River. I walked the riverbank looking in every direction, hoping to be swept off my feet, and kept finding bubbles swirling into shapes. I edged out onto a slippery fallen tree that reached into the river for the cleanest view I could get. I still don’t know what held me more, the color in the water or the patterns of the bubbles.
