This book is called August. It is the month these photos were taken, in scattered locations across Colorado and Wyoming, over the last few summers. The mountains out west became a routine escape paved by post-pandemic possibilities. For several years, the entire month was a standard refuge, welcoming and embracing. It gave me peace and freedom before returning me to the city in the fall to start the year anew.
“August,” my first photobook (now sold out), will fondly close the chapters of this wonderful summer tradition, one now resolved to memory. Time keeps moving forward with no path certain, and these photographs house particular moments in a special chapter of my life. It is the story of my Augusts out west. I humbly show it to you on film.
