Acadia National Park | Maine

In June, this far north, dawn came so early I was barely awake before I hurried down to the shore of Jordan Pond. My wife’s family had chosen Acadia for a summer trip, and between family hikes, the hours before anyone woke up were my stolen ones. I had been here once before, long ago, and longed to come back for sunrises like these, with the Bubbles from the opposite side of the pond. I set the tripod down at the water’s edge just in time. The summer greens were rich, and the whole scene settled into a simple calm.
