I have always hunted for reflections: lakes, rivers, puddles, anything still enough to hold the sky. Schwabacher Landing is one of the two or three places in the Tetons I return to every time for this very reason. I come before the sun, hoping for pastels in the sky, alpenglow on the peaks and, if I’m lucky, a moose wading along the Snake. Any one of those is good enough for me. This morning the color came just before the peaks lit up, and the purples were perfect.
