Bryce Canyon National Park | Utah

For most of the hike, we couldn’t see a thing: snow falling all morning, fog all around and deep orange mud underfoot. Winter is my favorite season in the desert, and ten years after my first visit, we finally made it back to Bryce, this time with children. We hiked down into the fog, the hoodoos nothing more than shapes. The moment we started climbing back out, the fog broke. This one appeared right in front of us.
