Bison Crossing
Bison Crossing
Badlands National Park, South Dakota
July 2022
The pandemic resulted in incredible lifestyle changes, one particular one was creating an avenue for remote work. This led to spending our routine summers in Colorado, away from city life, surrounded by mountains and crisp, cold air. But instead of flying over, we chose to drive to the Rockies from the East Coast.
I’ve shot the Badlands three years in a row as we headed to Colorado, in search of awe, mesmerized by the otherworldly landscape they offer. This particular trip, I headed farther west into the remote parts of the park, looking for an expanse filled with wildlife. Just as we were about to give up and head to Wyoming, a single buffalo appeared right in front of the car and walked across the road.
